Yogi x ReaderChapter 2: A Warm Place
"Eh? You don't know?" Yogi frowned slightly, scratching his cheek. Hmm, well since you weren't sure where your home was, taking you to the ship would be the best option. Besides, he didn't forget about the others in that basement. You were about to thank the blonde and leave, but you felt his arm snake around your waist tightly.
"Hold on tight!" You both are suddenly lifted high in the air at an accelerating speed. You grab tightly onto Yogi, closing your eyes to block the view of the Earth below you.
Moments later, the wind no longer whipped against your body, feeling your feet now meet with solid. You find yourself in an open space illuminated by various lights with an entrance way being blocked by...sheep?!
"Welcome back, baa!"
"Welcome back, baa!"
"I'm back!" Yogi answered then gently pushed you towards one of them. "You have to answer 'I'm back' or else they'll chase you out if you don't."
You weren't sure where they would chase you out to, but you didn't want to be kicked out from this high in the sky. You leaned close to the sheep's ear, whispering quietly until it was able to register your voice. Yogi led you through the long hallway until you were in an intersection of corridors. You continued to walk behind him and finally entered a room.
"Yogi, may I ask who is this person you brought to our ship?" Hirato instantly notices the disheveled stranger. You noted three more heads turn to you from the couch, your anxiety level slightly rising. What was going on? What were they going to do?
"She's-umm, well, she didn't tell me yet..."
"Then how are you two acquainted?"
"I bought her!"
"EH?!" All four share the same shocked reaction.
"You know I will have to arrest you for involving yourself in an illegal crime." The top hat wearing man pushed up his glasses.
"I don't know you anymore." The female of the group sends him a frightening glare.
"Y-yogi, I thought you were a good guy?" The youngest sniffles, giving him a sad look.
"Che, I always knew you were a weirdo." You heard the last of them scoff.
"What? No! Everyone, it's not what you think! I swear!"
They weren't convinced by his words, causing Yogi to plead more for his innocence. He finally has a chance to explain everything, thoroughly and clearly to dispel any confusion.
"So, an auction for women? It seems that this town's security force isn't doing much of a very good job. Tsukumo and I will handle the situation. Nai and Gareki, please stay here. Yogi, take the lovely, young woman to Gramps immediately."
You're now seated before an elderly man and a nurse, who are currently treating your open wounds.
"What is your name, dearie?" You hear Gramps ask as you glance at the floor. "Oh, I'm sorry, you cannot speak?"
"She can, Gramps. I think she's just a little shy! She said 'I'm back' to the sheep, I mean, I didn't hear it, but they registered her voice so I'm sure that-"
"Be quiet!! I'm talking to the patient!" You nearly jump at how skilled the old doctor was when throwing Yogi against the wall using an I.V pole.
"Y-y-yogi! Are you okay?" The little one kneels beside him.
"Leave him. He'll live." You glance at the black haired one leaning near the door. A small, rectangular screen appears in front of you, the old man presenting the item.
"You can write down your thoughts if you wish to communicate with us. Feel free to use it when you are ready." Gramps smiles as you lightly touch the device. It glows in response then you begin to draw random shapes as a test. Gramps is examining your ankles, but becomes distracted when the screen is in front of his face.
"__(y/n)?" You hear him say and you nod and point to yourself. "Well, _(y/n), it is a pleasure to meet you. My name is Ryoushi"
"__(y/n) is your name? That's pretty!"
"I agree with Nai-chan!" Yogi looks at the electronic notebook then at you, "Ne, ne does your throat hurt? Is that why you can't talk? I can get you some tea! That always helps me when-"
"Leave! You're becoming a nuisance!" Yogi is thrown out of the room and Gareki drags Nai with him, allowing the doctor to finish administering his treatments.
"Gramps is too rough." Yogi is rubbing the spot where Ryoushi hit him.
"I would've done the same thing if you were interfering with my work." Gareki says then notices Nai lost in his thoughts.
"What's wrong, Nai?"
"Huh? Nothing, it's just that girl...she's really...confused."
"Let the old man take care of it. I'm sure she'll be fine when he's done."
For almost an hour, they hear the footsteps exiting your room.
"Hirato is not back yet?" The doctor wanting to give report to the second ship's captain.
"Not yet." Yogi shakes his head, "but how is she?"
"Extremely exhausted, but she's sleeping at the moment. She's very malnourished so I've started an I.V to replace her lost nutrients. She's also suffering from slight amnesia which I assume is from the abuse she's taken. Her injuries are very concerning seeing how deep some of them are and a few are beginning to look infected. However, I've given her the proper care for her wounds and I'll follow up with her again tomorrow. As for her lack of speaking, it's due to the trauma she's experienced before Yogi found her. It is somewhat of a coping mechanism for her as well as self defense."
"Then...what can we do to help?" Yogi frowns at your condition, but trusts Ryoushi to help with your recovery.
"Everything will come with time. She needs to adjust being in a nonthreatening environment now. It is also imperative that she does not feel pressured when being asked of something. Be patient with __(y/n). She needs to feel relaxed and safe. Once you earn her trust, then she'll open up." He explained the best treatment that Yogi, Nai, and Gareki could implement for you. Gramps and the nurse leave to write their documentation as they wait for the second ship's captain to return.
"Oi, Yogi, why do you care so much for this girl? I mean, I know it's the right thing to do, but you can leave it to the old man." Gareki questions the Circus fighter.
"Her eyes..." A pair of __(e/c) orbs flash in Yogi's mind, "they were so hurt, sad, and hopeless. She was also scared and lost. Her eyes were so intense that it made my chest hurt. I could tell she wanted to live, but didn't know how to without relying on others. It's as if all she knows are bad people. I...I want to show her that there are still good people out there!"
Gareki is slightly surprised by his genuine response, but should have expected him to answer in that way. He thought about Yogi's comment and is reminded of Tsubaki. He, too, used to believe in only the worst of people, until he was saved by his 'older sister.'
"I'll help, too!" Nai raises one of his arms in a voluntarily motion.
"Che, what a pain. Count me out." He wouldn't know how to help.
"Eh? You don't want to help, Gareki?"
"No, of course not. It's not my business." The little Niji then gently tugs on Gareki's sleeve with big, pleading red eyes and jutted bottom lip.
"I want to help Yogi, but I don't think I can do it without you. When you first saved me, I was really happy! So I think you can do the same with __(y/n)-san! Please teach me how I can make __(y/n)-san not afraid! Please, Gareki?"
A Niji animal replaces Nai's human body as Gareki's imagination takes over, causing his eye to twitch. "Fine, fine! Just stop bothering me."
"Yay! Did you hear that, Yogi? Gareki will help!"
"That's great, Nai-chan! And I'm sure Hirato and Tsukumo-chan will join, too!"
It has been four days since Yogi rescued you and you've been under Gramps care up to now. You have been sleeping for long hours, but the doctor has been encouraging it. Yogi learned that the auction did not have any connections with Kafka or varuga, but he saw Akari-sensei take a sample of your blood for precaution. He was relieved to hear that you were not exposed to any varuga blood or bodily fluids. However, that didn't mean they were not going to monitor you.
Today would be your first day meeting with everyone again. When it was the blonde man's turn to reintroduce himself, you held up your mini tablet computer,"Yogi."
"That's right! I'm Yogi!" He seemed proud that his name was the only one you knew. Of course you'd remember the one who helped you escape. Also, you often heard his voice outside your door, asking Gramps about your condition so it was hard to forget him.
"Anyway, I hope you don't mind us being here," Hirato receives a shake of your head, "but I'd figure you'd like to know what happened to that auction. We managed to shut down that business as well as arrest those involved. There is still one we are looking for, but he won't get very far without being caught.""What about the other women?"
"We also have rescued and brought them to the hospital to receive medical care. We are also tracing those who were previous sold."
You let out a small relieved sigh, glad that the other girls would be with their loved ones soon.
"Would you like to tell us how you were kidnapped?""I don't remember much other than waking up in a room with a lot of other women. I can't seem to remember anything before I was kidnapped. Sorry."
"No need to apologize. We will do our best to find your family and bring you home. Anyway, I leave the rest to these four. Please feel free to ask them for anything. Make sure to take it easy." Hirato gives you a small bow before placing his hat back on top of his head.
"There is another meeting?" Tsukumo asks.
"No, not today. I'll be with Tsukitachi investigating an area where there have been reports of varuga activity."
You immediately lift your head up slightly at a particular word. Gareki notices your reaction and addresses it out loud,
"Hm? Heard something interesting?"
You nod, typing the word 'Varuga' in your notepad."I've heard it before. Even before I was kidnapped to be sold. Varuga are monsters that have to be killed. They're dangerous. If you don't kill them, they'll eat you. You have to be careful of their blood because once you turn, you'll have to die. I remember someone saying those words to me. I've also seen a lot of them. I don't know how or why, but I draw a blank when I try to think back."
Hirato's lips curve to a concerned frown, but quickly changes his demeanor when you look at him, "You are right that varuga are dangerous, but do not stress yourself too much. Let the missing pieces of your memory come back naturally and tell one of us immediately. The more we know, the better we can help. Anyway, I'll be taking my leave now."
"Ne, __(y/n)-chan, do you want to eat breakfast with us?" Yogi asks as you look unsure, feeling out of place if you joined them. You were about to refuse but your stomach quickly agrees to Yogi's request. You blush and mentally scold at your stomach, but none of them made any remarks.
"Don't deny that you're hungry. It'll be a pain if you pass out from hunger." Gareki is the first to leave for the dining room area.
"G-g-gareki-kun!" Yogi attempts to correct his words, moving closer to your bed, "A-ah, he didn't mean it like that! That's just his way of saying that he wants you to join us! You don't have to if you don't want to! We can bring the food here."
You understood Gareki's point and knew it'd be rude to the people taking care of you. You nodded your head, carefully getting out of bed. "It's okay. I'll go with you. Thank you."
They gave you a quick tour around the ship after breakfast, amazed at it's internal structure and machinery. Everything seemed so surreal! The entire day was also spent learning the four's background and their relationship to Circus. The one who interested you the most was Nai, never having heard of a half animal, half human species. But that didn't matter to you. He was a very kind and sweet person. Well, they were all nice to you, although Gareki had a unique way of showing it. The night ended with you being shown to your new, temporary room since you didn't need to stay in the infirmary rooms anymore.
"Tada! Hope you like it! Gramps and Hirato said that you could stay here until we find your family!" Yogi opens the door and your eyes are instantly attracted by the wonderful colors and designs.
"I live across from you so don't hesitate to come by." Tsukumo gives a gentle and welcoming smile.
"Mhm! And I'm to your right while Nai-chan's and Gareki-kun's is to your left."
"Tomorrow, will you eat with us again?" Nai watches you sit on the edge of your bed, grasping onto a small pillow and observing its designs. You nod in response, writing a 'good night' before they left. A small jolt tingles Nai's spine before leaving your room. He blinks a few times then settles himself beside you.
"I want to stay here some more." He announces and you divert your gaze into his innocent red eyes.
'I know I heard it. She...doesn't want to be left alone yet.
Did this boy know what you were feeling? Or was it coincidence? Maybe he was bored and looking to kill time? Whatever the reason, you were glad he was staying for a little while longer.
"Oi, Nai. You can't sleep here. Stop botheri-" Gareki makes a move to grab Nai by the back of his shirt, but Yogi interferes first.
"Let him stay." Tsukumo nods to you and Nai who are engaged in their own conversation. Without you speaking, Nai understood what you were thinking and feeling.
"I want to join, too, but Hirato wanted to see us before we went to bed. Ahh, I'll definitely talk with her more tomorrow!" Yogi promises after shutting your door, already thinking of different topics to discuss with you in the morning.
The next few months you not only become familiar with Yogi and the others, but some more of the Circus crew, such as Iva, Jiki, Tsukitachi, and Kiichi. The First Ship came only once in a while seeing how they had their own missions to accomplish.
Today Iva was accompanying you to Hirato's office for a meeting pertaining to your family.
"Na, Hirato, don't keep my sweet, imouto-chan away from me too much! I expect the meeting to last no more than 15 minutes! This is an order from your Queen." Iva gave a playful wink as you hear Hirato brush her off with a low chuckle.
"Right." He watches her close the door, leaving only you and the Second Ship's Captain.
"Iva-neesan! What did Hirato say?" Yogi starts bombarding her with questions and she answers with her powerful legs.
"You're annoying!" Her final kick sends him to the floor. Nai, Gareki, and Tsukumo follow after hearing their friend's cries of pain.
"Ah! Tsukumo-chan!" Iva wears a cheerful expression as she hugs the shorter female to her bosom. "You're cute as ever!"
"__(y/n)-nee is in there with Hirato? I wonder if everything will be okay." Nai and the others had heard about the Banshee wielding fighter preparing to discuss family matters with you. They didn't know the exact details, which explains their current location.
"Mhm, she's in there. I just dropped her off so he should be starting now." Iva watches Nai and Yogi press their ears against the door to hear your conversation.
"The reason it took us very long to find out information on your background is because...well you have none." Hirato summons a wide screen before you, revealing whatever documents they managed to find. "Let me correct myself. You do have some record, such as your date of birth and where you are from, however, your town no longer exist. We did find papers of your parents, but their statuses are unknown. We still have no clarification as to if they are alive or not. They have been unknown for quite some time. The reason why your town no longer exists is years ago, they were attacked by varuga. We managed to exterminate all of the varuga, but the town was also destroyed. A year after, a new city was built over it. Now, I don't know exactly if you and your family had left before the attack, but your status was also unknown until Yogi found you."
You stare up at the picture of your family, Hirato letting you absorb his research.
." Hirato reads your device after a small, piece of your memories flashes in your mind, "I remembering moving a lot to different places
"Ah, I see. Then that might explain why your statuses have been marked like that for a while. When Circus was rescuing survivors and doing a body count, they didn't find you or your family so they put you on the unknown list."
" You looked down momentarily before you continued, "So...where will you leave me now?
"Leave you? Now, what makes you think I am that much of a cruel person? Has Akari-san been visiting you lately?" Hirato couldn't help but laugh at your question.
"Well, why don't we tell everyone what will happen next?" Hirato lifts his hat and a shadow escapes from inside. The shadow transforms into a girl and you become impressed by Hirato's powers. The banshee opens the door and you see Nai, Yogi, Tsukumo, and Iva fall to the floor.
"Don't try to escape, Gareki." The banshee grabs the ex thief before he disappears, lifting him then dropping the boy beside his pile of friends. Although Gareki wasn't leaning against the door like the others, he was standing by the wall, using Nai as his interpreter.
"You have probably heard everything up to now. So, my decision for our dear __(y/n)-chan is for her to stay here. Leaving her in a random town in her amnesic state will cause some problems. It seems that her memories are coming back bit by bit and once she's fully recovered them, she can decide what to do from there." Although Hirato could have left this assignment to the security force, there was something in his gut that prevented him from leaving you.
'Those things she mentioned about varuga. There's something strange about it
.' He then lets out a tiny sound from his mouth at the sudden embrace you gave him.
"Thank you." Through the loud cheering of your friends, Hirato picks up your soft, grateful whisper.
"You are quite welcome." He chuckles, responding to the hug with one arm before you rush to your friends.
"I get to stay!
" You wrote happily, their gleeful hurrahs only increasing.
"Great, it'll be more noisy now." Gareki folds his arms over his chest and Iva swings her arm over his neck.
"Quit being immature and admit how happy you are."
"Happy? Who the hell will enjoy now that it won't be quiet anymore?"
During their bickering, Nai gently tugs on your sleeve to whisper in your ear, "He might not say it, but he's glad you won't leave us."
You give him a nod, agreeing with Gareki's happy feelings. Suddenly, you feel arms wrap around you from behind and lift you slightly.
"Isn't that great, __(y/n)-chan? Let's go into town and get some stuff to celebrate tonight!" You recognize the voice to belong to Yogi.
"That's a great idea! Me, Nai, Tsukumo, Hirato, and Gareki will prepare and Yogi can take __(y/n)-chan around the ship or into town. Come back around dinner time." Iva instructed.
"Ah, I'm afraid I cannot participate in the preparations. My schedule is already set for the rest of the afternoon, but I'll be able to make it before the party ends." Hirato gathers his items then tips his hat before exiting the room.
"All right, well, we're still going to stick to what I said. Now, go on you two, go and...find something to do." Iva ushers you and Yogi into the hallway, opposite of the dining room. Once far enough, Iva leaves the rest to Yogi, the blonde figuring what the two of you could do to pass time.
"How about we go into town for a bit?" Yogi suggests and you easily agree, grabbing your things for outside.
The gorgeous weather seemed to attract a large crowd today, but the people were what made the environment more alive. Yogi gave you the choice to shop or walk through the park. You pointed at the park, wanting to enjoy the semi-natural state. Halfway through the area, you both situated yourselves on an empty bench. Yogi catches you staring at a family, having just finished eating and now engaging in some type of game.
"I'm sorry about your family." You turn your head to the golden boy. "Maybe...maybe we'll find them soon! Or when your memories return, we'll be able to get a clue to where they are."
You shake your head with a small smile before writing, "It's okay. It's not your fault. Somehow, when Hirato told me about my family, it sounded familiar. Like...I already knew it. Also, my heart tells me that they aren't with me anymore and I'm already used to it. Well, it's more like I've accepted it.
Yogi suddenly pulls you to a hug after finishing what he read, your ears hearing the sound of his sniffles. "If that's true then...we can be your family! Any time you feel sad, happy, scared, or mad, we'll be there for you! Anything that you need, we can provide it. Don't hold back, okay?"
Your heart beats happily at his words and your arms tighten slightly around his slim frame. You nod before typing,
"Thank you so much. I'm glad to have met you all.
"We're glad also!" Yogi removes his arms from you, but doesn't alter the now short distance between you two. He then gets up to buy the both of you ice cream after hearing a bell sound from the frozen dessert cart. You give him a grateful smile, taking the sweet snack. Before your tongue tastes the flavor, you notice a group of children with one boy sobbing loudly at the sight of his fallen treat. His friends try to console and offer a piece of their food, but he refuses, stating how he didn't like their flavors.
"__(y/n)-chan?" Yogi watches you stand and walk over to the group of children. You noticed that his ice cream was the same as yours and you presented it to the crying child. Yogi smiled at the sweet gesture, his heart in awe at your generosity. He sees your lips moving, but too far for his ears to hear anything.
'That's right...she still doesn't fully trust us. She doesn't trust me yet
.' Yogi remembers the advice Gramps had given them for your selective mutism. 'But I'll do my best to earn it! I'll show her that not everyone is bad
.' It made him slightly sad and disappointed to see that you still felt the need to guard yourself around him. However, he wouldn't push it. He knew it would take time to get you to feel comfortable around him and the others. He felt a little silly for envying the kids. Of course you could trust them quickly. They were still pure and innocent, what potential danger could you fear from them?
"Go, nee-san! Go!"
Yogi hears the children shout out as he sees them standing by the base of a tree. He follows where their eyes are and finds you climbing the tall tree to retrieve one of their kites.
"Wait, __(y/n)-chan, let me help." Yogi quickly finishes his ice cream before jogging to where the group was. He flies to the top where you grasped the colorful, stuck item before the wind would end up possessing it.
"Ohh!" The kids say in unison, watching your friend float by your side. You smile up at Yogi who's standing on the same branch you were. Before you could grab his hand, a cracking sound makes you pause, your eyes staring wide at one another. The noise turns into a loud snap and the support beneath you two collapses.
"Ahh!" The young ones screech, watching their older peers being pulled by gravity. You managed to prevent your fall by carefully planting yourself on a branch. You find that Yogi is still in the process of coming down, being hit with many, MANY of the tree's arms. You straddle the branch, crossing your legs underneath and turn to your side right when Yogi is about to pass you. The cat boy feels your hands grab his arms and sleeves, keeping him from being further abused by the twigs.
The splitting of wood returns and you're efforts in trying to save Yogi were evanescent. You weren't able to grab onto anything, but this time your Circus friend finally reacted properly and used his bracelet to activate his flying power. He catches you carefully on his shoulder, bringing the two of you back to the ground slowly and smoothly, making sure to avoid the poking branches. You're placed on your feet, letting out a relieved sigh.
"That was cool, oni-chan!"
"How can you fly?"
"Can I fly, too?"
"Onee-san, are you okay?"
The little ones gather in front of you, Yogi sheepishly laughing at their excited and shocked expressions. "It's magic!" He answers in terms that they would be able to understand.
"Thanks, onee-san! Oni-chan! Now I can fly my kite again!" A boy replies after being handed his kite.
"So awesome! I didn't know your kite had Nyanperowna!" A girl gasps after noting the design on flying toy. The kids attention are no longer on Yogi then you write him a message,
"Oh! I don't think you've meet Nyanperowna, ne?"
You shake your head in response, not recalling anyone mentioning that name.
"Well, when we get back to the ship, I'll let you meet him!"
"Okay! I can't wait.
Eventually the group departed from you, happily waving and thanking you and Yogi for the ice cream, retrieving the kite, and playing a couple of games with them. Yogi spots a few, light scratch marks on your hand when you waved back to the children and he cautiously holds it in his grasp.
"I-I...I'm sorry!" His eyes begin to tear. "Because I broke the branch, you got hurt!"
You quickly disagree with him, rubbing his arm to comfort your guilty comrade. "That isn't your fault! Really! Besides, I think it would have been a lot worse had you not been there. My scratches are really small compared to yours. I should be the one asking if you are okay.
"I'm fine, but I should have been more careful! I don't like it when my friends get hurt."
"And I don't like it when my friends are sad. It's fine, ne? We're both okay and we made the kids happy. That's all that matters, right?
"Mm. Okay, __(y/n)-chan." He dries his eyes by using his sleeve, "But I'll still be careful next time."
Before going deeper into the park, you decided you wanted to meet this Nyanperowna before dinner, which excited Yogi quickly. You walked back to the entrance point, listening to Yogi give a background of this famous, cat figure. Your eyes followed a red ball rolling past you and across the slightly busy street with a boy following his toy. You immediately lifted the boy in your arms, shaking your head and Yogi adds,
"I-it's too dangerous to cross! You shouldn't do that. You should always look before you cross. Even then, I think it's best if you get your mom or dad to help you."
"But my ball!" The child gives the both of you a pouty expression. You hand him to Yogi, volunteering to fetch the round object. You follow the rules to crossing the street, discovering the ball being lightly pushed around by the feet of many pedestrians on the sidewalk. You capture it before it's out of your range, keeping a tight grip on your target. You blink at another Nyanperowna design, wondering just who this cat cartoon was? You didn't realize that you were blocking a person's way, standing up and bowing apologetically to the stranger. Your arm is suddenly grabbed and you're being forced to follow him into an alleyway.
"Who would have thought that I'd see you here?" The man pulls off his shades and hat, revealing it to be one of the subordinates of the auctioneer man. Your eyes widen at his familiar face, now attempting to break his hold on you.
"I lost my job because of you! I know you're connected to that business shutting down! As soon as you left, Circus came! It's all your fault!" You glare hard in response then kicked his shin to escape. He bore through the pain and pulled you hard towards him.
No! You didn't want him to take you! You didn't want to relive that nightmare.
"I'm not letting you go! You're going to pay for everything! I'm gonna make lots of money off of you! Heh, this could be the start of my own business. This time I'll make sure to not be caught."
"Let her go!" A thorny vine erupts from the ground, wrapping around the man's arm. The stranger's fingers loosen on you and you turn back to find Yogi with his sword embedded in the ground.
"__(y/n)-chan! Are you hurt?" He asks, rushing towards you. You shake your head, indicating that no injuries had occurred.
"W-w-wait! You got it all wrong!" You hear the wanted criminal, "I..I was going to hand her to the police! She...she was trying to seduce me! She was trying to sell herself to me! Of course I know that it's illegal to do that kind of stuff! So if you let me go, I can properly hand her to the authorities!" It seems as if he didn't recognize Yogi or know his true identity. Either way, Yogi knew who he was and was not going to believe his lies.
"How could you say that? __(y/n)-chan would never do that! I know you're that guy we've been looking for! You were connected to that illegal auction!"
The man begins to get angry and insult Yogi, his voice now getting you infuriated. You placed the boy's red ball on the floor, turning it a certain angle. You flex your leg to a certain degree and kicked the ball hard to his face. The force had driven his head against the wall, momentarily knocking him out. The ball bounced back to you, catching it before you would have to search for it again.
"Nice job, __(y/n)-chan! I was getting tired of hearing him talk, too! And of course I don't believe anything he said about you. This is the last person who was connected to the auction. We've been looking for him for a while, but he's-"
You interrupt the Second Ship's fighter, holding his arm to your body.
"Thank you. I thought I was going to be kidnapped again.
"I'm not gonna let that happen. I'll protect you! You've become my precious friend and I don't ever want anything bad to happen to you!"
Your chest slightly tightens at how he regards and you give him a full embrace. Yogi smiles down at you, grateful he came in time before something terrible might have happened. Security force came to arrest the convict after Yogi informed them of his whereabouts.
"Yosh! Now it's time to meet Nyanperowna!" Yogi tried to dissipate the serious aura, changing the topic to a much lighter one.
After returning the ball to its awaiting owner, you both left for the ship and received your usual greeting from the sheep. You were then taken into a huge changing room, congested with boxes, trunks, and racks filled with various costumes and extravagant clothing.
"Wait here, okay? I'll get Nyanperowna." You waited patiently on one of the chairs, looking through the scattered jewelry on the vanity dresser.
"Ta da!" You turn your head to find a tall, yellow cat with exaggerated lashes and fushia colored eyes.
"Ba! Ba, ba!" You watch as Yogi's arms extend from the side. "Filled with the power of man's spirit! I'm the Sparkling Prince who makes your hearts throb!" Glitter starts to spread all around him as he makes various poses.
"The Second Ship Fighter of the National Defense Organization, Circus, Nyanperowna, is here!" His final stance consists of him kneeling on on knee in front of you with his arms still spread far from his body.
You let out a small giggle and clap, applauding him for his wonderful introduction. "Sugoi, Yogi-kun! Such a cute costume! I love it!
"Haha, I'm not Yogi. I'm Nyanperowna!" He jokes, standing tall and presents a colorful candy bar to you.
"That's right! Sorry about that, Nyanperowna.
" You take the sweet treat, "Thank you! It's very nice to meet you. I'm __(y/n).
" You play along.
"It's nice to meet you, too! I heard a lot of things about you from Yogi!"
"Oh really? Well, I hope they are all good.
"Yup, yup! He says that you're really friendly, smart, and pretty! Very, very pretty!"
You blush deeply at the unexpected compliments, but replied back with a similar message,
"I should thank him when I see him. I also think he has a great personalty. He's sweet, selfless, strong, and handsome! I'm very lucky to be friends with him!
Yogi becomes speechless at not only your words, but that sweet and beautiful smile you give to him. He could feel the temperature underneath the costume increase and his heart throbbing loudly. He watches you move to a rack of clothes, looking through them and admiring their unique patterns. You laugh to yourself as you try on a ridiculously large hat that now has eaten your head. Yogi removes the top portion of his Nyanperowna costume, also going to try on a few headpieces. You take off your current hat, grabbing Nyanperowna's head and placing it over yours.
"You should try the costume!" Yogi suggests and helps you into the cat suit. You barely move seeing how the ensemble doesn't fit your body at all. You attempt to copy Nyanperowna's introductory poses, almost tripping on yourself from the sagging bottom portion.
"Kawaii, __(y/n)-chan!" He melts at the combination of the two things he adored the most. You spent the rest of the time trying on various accessories and clothing, having gone through almost all the the trunks except for one. You blink, unlocking the large, black and white luggage.
"Kyaaa!" Yogi panics at your frightened shriek, running to where you were. He peeks into the opened container and lets out a similar yelp, quickly closing it.
"S-sorry! I forgot to mention that these are for Halloween."
"It's okay. I was just surprised...that's all.
" You were not expecting to see frightening masks and props inside. Yogi's phone alerts him to an incoming call, reading the I.D to be Iva.
"Ah, Iva-neesan. What's up?"
"What do you mean what's up? Where are you? We've been waiting!"
"Huh? But it's only-" He notices the time and finds that the two of you are half an hour late. You both were too concentrated having fun in the changing room that Yogi wasn't aware of the time. "Sorry! Sorry! We're only in the changing room. We'll be there soon!"
"Are they okay?" Nai asks Iva after being disconnected from the call.
"They're fine. They're on their way." The teal haired woman pockets her phone and slams her fist against her palm. "That Yogi!"
"We're here!" The doors are forced open, revealing a panting couple.
"How dare you make the celebrant late to her own party?!" Iva lifts him up by the front of his shirt. "And how could you make us wait like that? Huh?"
You interfere before she releases her wrath, giving your older sister figure a pleading look. She lets go of Yogi and feels her anger disappear, now focused on you.
"Ah, imouto-chan! Are you hungry? I bet you are! Come! Let's start eating!" She leads you towards the long table filled with a surplus of delicious food. Halfway through the party, Hirato joins as well as Gramps. The room becomes louder with conversation and laughs, today's wonderful events adding to your memory.
"Tsukumo-chan?" Iva calls to the light blonde female who seemed to be staring in one direction. "You all right?"
"Yes. I'm fine, but I feel like I'm missing something." She nods to you and Yogi who are currently sharing each other's food. "Doesn't it feel like they've gotten closer?"
"Hmmm, you're right! I wonder what happened between them?"
Hours later, you and Nai are the first two to fall asleep at the table. This indicated that it was time to officially end your welcoming party. The sheep flood the room to clean and pack away any left overs, Hirato and Gramps leaving first.
"I'll be leaving now with __(y/n)-chan. I'll bring her to her room." Yogi says quietly to not disturb you or Nai. He brings you on his back with the help of Gareki, bidding the gang a good night. During the walk he feels something soft against the base of his neck. He glances to see you nuzzling your face in his skin, unconsciously enjoying the warmth. His cheeks brighten at your motion and his skin tingles happily at your touch. Once at your room, he carefully sets you on the bed, removing your shoes to maintain your comfort. As he pulls the blanket upwards, he slowly leans closer, now lingering over your face. He retracts immediately, realizing what he was doing and froze at the thought of you catching him.
'Ahhh, __(y/n)-chan would hate me if she woke up and I was too close to her face! I don't want her thinking I was trying anything weird! What am I doing anyway? I should let her sleep. I don't wanna wake her.
Yogi gives one final look at you, pushing aside a few stands of hair from your face. He lowers himself again, but only to whisper in your ear,
"Good night, __(y/n)-chan."
He silently departs from your room to also prepare himself for bed. However, had he stayed a few seconds longer, he would have heard your sleepy response,
"Good night, Yogi-kun."
Other than Nai having super sensitive hearing, he's sensitive to people's feelings and thoughts. Here are some examples:www.mangahere.com/manga/karnev…www.mangahere.com/manga/karnev…
